Chris Leone, formerly Chief Operating Officer at WebStrategies, has been named President. In addition to his current responsibilities, Chris will take on leading all day-to-day operations of the company including sales, marketing, operations and administration.
This promotion is all about building long term sustainability for our clients and our employees, and about moving the firm to a new level. As I move into the twilight of my career, I felt it was critical to create a succession plan that provided a virtually seamless transition to new leadership. Chris has been mentored over the last few years to prepare him for this new responsibility.
Chris started his career at WebStrategies in 2008, after graduating from the University of Delaware and touring through Japan for nearly a year performing with Aimachi, the country’s premier marching percussion ensemble. WebStrategies at that point was primarily a website development firm. Chris was our first real digital marketer.
During his 8+ years at WebStrategies, Chris was instrumental in transforming the company from a website development firm, to a full service digital marketing agency with deep expertise in search engine and display marketing, social media, web analytics, and strategic marketing development – while all the time deepening our technical abilities to develop, improve and optimize websites.
In 2009 Chris initiated our quest to achieve Google Analytics Certified Partner status, a designation held by only the elite digital marketing firms in the world. In 2011, Google awarded this distinction to WebStrategies, which makes the firm the only Google Certified Search and Analytics Partner Company in the state of Virginia. He personally is both a Google Certified Adwords Professional and a Google Web Analytics Individual.
As inbound marketing and marketing automation emerged, the WebStrategies team, led by Chris, embraced the technology and became Hubspot certified, achieving Hubspot Gold Partner status earlier this year.
With the recent merger of Impression Marketing into the WebStrategies team, the firm is poised to leverage greater expertise, a broader range of services and a deeper bench of talent to improve the results for our clients. Chris, and the entire WebStrategies team, including the experts joining us from Impression Marketing, look forward to building their capabilities and providing effective lead generation and sales solutions to the marketplace.As for me, I remain CEO of WebStrategies, and will be focused on the firm’s long term success, the ongoing development of our team, and strengthening the sales training and development services we provide to our clients.
