With ten branch locations, this experienced, community-oriented bank serves the financial needs of local residents and business owners. Faced with strong local competition, limited brand recognition beyond their local market and the perception that switching banks is difficult, this bank knew overcoming these challenges required a highly-focused marketing strategy.

Approach

After launching a new website, the bank partnered with WebStrategies in 2017 to increase targeted website traffic, generate more leads and enhance the website conversion process.

Specific business goals included:

  • Marketing loans to existing, and new, customers
  • Growing business banking as a whole

Display advertising campaigns were created to meet these goals. We developed compelling Google and Facebook campaigns for new accounts and for loans, as well as optimizing existing landing pages for the ads, improving the user experience and improving conversions.

Results

This display advertising strategy succeeded at improving conversions, generating leads, and falsifying the stigma that it’s difficult to switch banks or time consuming to apply for a loan online.

In the short period we’ve been doing display advertising, the bank has seen not just a huge increase in traffic, but 527 clicks on calls-to-action on the targeted landing pages—256 to apply for a loan and 271 to open an account.
