While born in Chicago, Laura has lived in Richmond, Virginia since age 5 so she considers herself a RVA native. Laura is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where she studied communications with a concentration in broadcasting. She started her career in radio, testing the waters in many different departments before coming to Richmond to work for Clear Channel (now iHeart Media) as the Promotions Director for Q94. When Clear Channel adopted the mindset that “we are no longer radio stations with websites, we are now websites with radio stations”, the focus transitioned from promoting a radio station to managing and marketing the website. The content marketing and graphic design involved in maintaining the website came so naturally she was then promoted to the Online Content Manager for all 6 of the Clear Channel stations in Richmond.
When her son, Shane, was born in 2009, she then moved into positions that allowed her to work from home, doing freelance work and managing Vogue Flowers’ website, as well as marketing all 3 of their locations. In 2012, she came to work for Impression Marketing (now WebStrategies), bringing her wealth of social media and website knowledge as well as an eclectic mix of other talents that is so desirable in digital marketing.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. Her hobbies include snow and water skiing, scuba diving, playing piano and dabbling in photography.
