David McKillen

Director of Web Development

Dave McKillen is the Director of Development at WebStrategies. With 12 years experience, Dave has a portfolio proficient is several areas from design to programming and coding in addition to search engine optimization and other online marketing techniques. Dave currently directs a large team of WebStrategies project managers, designers and programmers both across the US and internationally.

Dave was born and raised in Ireland. After graduating with a B.S. in Zoology and molecular genetics from University College of Dublin, he moved to the US in 2000 to work in a molecular genetics lab. Dave worked in the internet industry for a period of time before deciding to get his M.S. in Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business.

Before joining the team, Dave held various positions as a designer and programmer. As a point of interest in his portfolio, Dave has worked as a developer on the marinegenomics.org project as a founding member of the group at Hollings Marine Lab in association with NOAA in Charleston, SC. Here, he began applying his passion of web development and building web tools to biological problems. Dave is still in touch with several members of the original Marine Genomics initiative and acts as an advisor from time to time.

An avid soccer player, Dave founded his own soccer social group, Spoccer.com which in its prime, had a strong following, where he shared his passion for the sport with others nationwide. He is also a fan of Judo having competed at college level and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. When he's not indulging in recreational sports, he's at home with his wife, three young children and dog Hector.
